January to March (winters)
Extending from December to March is the winter season. The coldest month of the season is January. The temperature ranges from 10° C to 27° C. However, there may be considerable difference in the maximum and minimum temperatures.

April to June (summer)
The hottest season of Rajasthan, summer, extends from April to June. The temperature in this season ranges from 32° C to 45° C. The only place in Rajasthan that is a little cool in summers is the hill station, Mt Abu. However, the nights in Rajasthan are pretty cool, with the night temperature falling considerably.

July to September (monsoon)
During the period of July to September, lies the monsoon. The temperature ranges from 35° C to 40° C. The state receives approximately 90% of its annual rainfall in this season only. It is the most humid season in Rajasthan.

October to December (post monsoon)
From October to November is the post monsoon season. The average maximum temperature ranges between 33° C to 38° C, and the minimum is between         18° C and 20° C.

Geography of Rajasthan



Rajasthan, situated at the northwestern part of India. Rajasthan is the biggest state in India and  Rajasthan lies between 23°30' and 30° 11' North latitude and 69° 29' and 78° 17' East longitude. Rajasthan state shares its north-western and western boundary with the Indo-Pakistan international border that extends about 1,070 km and touches the major districts Barmer, Bikaner, Ganganagar and. Jaisalmer

Rajasthan is enriched with variable topographic features. The dry and the parched region are predominant in the major portions of the state. The main features of topography are rolling sand dunes, river-drained plains, rocky terrain, wetlands, plateaus, barren tracks or land filled with the thorny shrubs, wooded regions and ravines.
Topography 

The topography  of Rajasthan is divided into the following regions:
·         The Aravali /the hilly regions
·         The Thar and other arid regions
·         The plateaus including the Malwa and Vindhya
·         The fertile plains such as the Mewar
·         The forest regions
·         The water bodies such as rivers and salt lakes

Rajasthan Desert


The Thar Desert encompasses about 70% of total landmass of Rajasthan and hence it is identified as the "Desert State of India". Thar Desert is the biggest desert in India and encompasses the districts of Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bikaner and Jodhpur. In fact the Rajasthan Desert comprises the desert triangle of three cities - Jaisalmer, Bikaner and Jodhpur.
